“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive: and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
- Maya Angelou
Greetings and welcome to the world of building writers through ELA Writing Workshop. I have taught English Language Arts for the past twenty-four years and have spent the past two at Morningside Middle (EXCEL). I currently teach 7th Grade Writing and have been elected by my colleagues as the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year.
I am a graduate of Hunter College in New York City and Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina. My certification is in Elementary/Middle School ELA, Gifted and Talented and Elementary/Middle Administration.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, singing, and traveling. I am also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated where I take part in community service and mentoring projects in my community.
