Welcome to 7th Grade Reading at Morningside!
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world." ~ Nelson Mandela
I am a lover of learning! I was taught to value education from a very early age as my mother was a high school ELA teacher with a passion for Shakespeare. I graduated from Hobart and William Smith College with a BA in English Literature and a concentration in Education and Theatre. Received my Masters Degree in Education 4 years later from the University of Phoenix.
In total, I have more than 10 years of teaching experience. I taught 7th and 8th grade ELA in New York for 6 years before moving to South Carolina in 2008. I taught high school English and Drama for my first 3 years in the south, then decided to pursue a career in integrative medicine, where I worked as a Clinical Supervisor for a local medical practice for 3 years. I missed teaching far too much, and decided to return to the classroom in 2014. I now teach 7th grade ELA at Morningside Middle School in Charleston County, where each and every day I work to ignite an interest in reading, inspire hope, and instill a love of learning!
Our Morningside scholars are bright, capable, and eager to learn. If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me!
