My name is Cynthia Mearite-Williams and I grew up in the small city of Bennettsville, SC (Go Bulldogs!!). I grew up in a family of love, which now explains why I love my Scholars at Morningside Middle so much. Growing up, my family always placed their emphasis on preparation, hard work, and respect. I applied these values to my endeavors by working on my goals every single day and informing my Scholars that they too can be whatever they choose to be with hard work and dedication. College is an option for you!!
I now am married and have a beautiful daughter that enjoys going to school because she understands at the age of six how important having a good education is.
I enjoy spending time with loved ones and scrapbooking.
I presently teach 8th grade English, reading, and writing at the A.R.M.S Academy.
As Aristotle said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” I love my job at MMS especially incorporating Action Based Learning strategies in my lessons and providing rigorous activities that allow Scholars to think outside the box, while providing evidence to support their thinking.
On a daily basis, scholars are expected to: be respectful to themselves by… doing their best, respect others by accepting everyone’s differences, and respecting property by… keeping all areas of the school neat and orderly.
