Congratulations to our Mustangs Boys Basketball Team on making history as the first-ever basketball champions! Competing in the City of North Charleston Recreation Middle School League against strong teams from across the district, our Mustangs showcased determination, teamwork, and resilience all season long. In an exciting championship matchup, they secured a thrilling 50–48 victory over Zucker Middle, proving their grit and championship spirit. We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes and coaches for this outstanding achievement—way to go, Mustangs!

Morningside Middle School warmly invites families to experience the heart of our neighborhood through a school tour.

As the middle school heartbeat of this community, Morningside is a place where learning thrives, scholars are known and loved, and strong home–school partnerships are valued and nurtured.

A school tour offers an opportunity to see our classrooms in action, meet our dedicated staff, and experience the supportive, welcoming environment that makes Morningside special.

Join us for Spirit Nights at Zaxby's from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on these dates:

  • Tuesday, March 17
  • Tuesday, April 21
  • Tuesday, May 19

Before making your purchase, say "Spirit Night" or "Morningside Middle," so our school gets credit for your purchase. 

We will also have a brief parent meeting at 5:15 p.m. Topics of discussion will include:

  • ensuring parents have access to Parent Portal to see grades and attendance;
  • ensuring contact information is up-to-date in PowerSchool;
  • discussing upcoming assessments and dates, preparation tips, and more;
  • continuing a strong home-school partnership with teachers and school staff

New Morningside Middle School Building Opens to Students and Staff

Construction of the new Morningside Middle School is complete. The new 125,000-square-foot facility will accommodate 900 students in sixth through eighth grades on the existing Morningside Middle School campus, located at 1999 Singley Lane in North Charleston. The project budget was approximately $66 million.
