SC READY Spring 2026 Parent Information

The South Carolina College and Career-Ready Assessment (SC READY) program is a required statewide assessment in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics for students in grades 3-8 and science for students in grades 4 and 6. For spring 2026, students in grades 3-5 will participate in a three-part ELA assessment, as well as a two-part mathematics assessment to field
test items that align to the new mathematics standards. The three-part ELA assessment will take place across three days and will consist of ELA Reading Part A, ELA Reading Part B, and ELA Writing, which will include the text-dependent writing (TDW) item. The two-part mathematics assessment will take place across two days and will consist of Mathematics Part A and
Mathematics Part B with field test items embedded throughout both parts. This format change was designed to combat student fatigue. Students in grades 6-8 will participate in single-day assessments for ELA Reading, ELA Writing, and Mathematics.

SC READY Testing Dates for Morningside Middle School:

  • Thursday, April 30: SC Ready: Science (6th Grade Only)
  • Tuesday, May 5: Math (All Grades)
  • Thursday, May 7: ELA Reading (All Grades)
  • Tuesday, May 12: ELA Writing (All Grades)
