Meet the Staff
I’m so excited to be starting my first year as the 6th grade school counselor at Morningside Middle School! I am going on my 8th year as a middle school counselor and before that I was a first grade teacher. As a school counselor, my job is to help students feel supported academically, socially, and emotionally. That means I work with students one-on-one, in small groups, and in classrooms to build skills, encourage positive relationships, and make sure every student feels safe and valued. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with my bachelor’s degree and earned my Master’s in Counseling from the University of Texas.
I’m so excited to introduce myself as your School Social Worker within Charleston County School District’s Department of Student Support Services. In CCSD, School Social Workers serve as a bridge between home, school, and community. My role is to support students, families, and staff so that every scholar has the best chance to succeed. Some of the ways I do this include: meeting with students individually or groups, supporting families with resources and psychoeducation, connecting schools with community partners, resources coordination, consulting with teachers and staff, and collaborating on school teams to strengthen student success.
A little about me personally: I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a major in Psychology from Hofstra University, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University. As an immigrant myself, and a proud mom of two, I understand the challenges that life can bring. That’s why I’m excited to support, partner with, and connect with all students and families to help make the 2025–2026 school year a positive and successful one!
Hello, Mustang Family! At Morningside Middle, I help students and families thrive in school, home, and in life by helping to identify their academic and social-emotional needs, conducting data-driven and culturally sensitive psychoeducational evaluations, and fostering consultation and collaboration with families, outside service providers, and school service providers. I am a proud graduate of Charleston County Schools (Burke High School class of 1997) and obtained my advanced degrees from the University of South Carolina (BA in English) and the Citadel Graduate College (MA in Psychology and EdS in School Psychology).
