PLTW with Dr. Hoel
Project Lead The Way uses real-world, career-connected, learning experiences to teach hands-on STEM skills. All students use engaging projects to become creative problem solvers in a collaborative environment.
6th Grade - PLTW Design & Modeling
Introduces students to the design process of creativity and innovation. Students learn to apply this process to solve problems, working in teams to design solutions, often using industry-standard 3D modeling software. They develop skills in sketching, solid modeling, and construction to design ideas effectively.
Examples of Activities:
- Paper Roller Coaster
- Therapeutic Toy
- Puzzle Cube
- Playground Design
7th - PLTW Flight & Space
The exciting world of aerospace comes alive. Students become engineers as they design, prototype, and test models to learn about the science of flight and what it takes to travel and live in space. They solve real-world aviation and space challenges and plan a mission to Mars.
Examples of Activities:
8th PLTW - Automation & Robotics
A hands-on, project-based course where students learn about the design, construction, and programming of robots and automated systems. Students use a robust robotics platform of VEX to design, build, and program solutions to real-world problems.
